I am passionate about a lot of things. As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have a responsibility to try and make the world a better place for not only my queer community, but for anyone who is troubled.
Being queer can be difficult. People (grownups and kids alike) may not understand you. But that is made even worse when your gender identity doesn’t always match your body. Some kids feel dysphoric, and can’t share what is happening with their families. Some families can’t understand the issues that their children are facing and can’t or won’t give their children the support they need. And some families just don’t have the resources to support their non-binary and trans kids. So, I’ve started The Binder Project. We buy binders for queer kids who face challenges in getting the binders they need so their outside can match who they are inside. We send binders all over the world. Check us out at The Binder Project on Instagram. Contact me on Instagram (The Binder Project or my personal instagram) if you need a chest binder, or would like to donate to help us help kids who can’t get help anywhere else.
Just like being queer can be really challenging, being a kid or teen can be really challenging. Depression and anxiety keep people from being happy, from being fulfilled and finding their way. Teen suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death in teens. There are over 5,000 attempted teen suicides every day in the United States. Having someone to talk to can help. A group of my friends and I staff the Help Support Love Center – an Instagram account where unhappy, depressed, stressed teens can find a listening ear, an open heart, and unconditional support. We aren’t therapists or counselors, we are just here to listen when you don’t think anyone else will. We love helping and talking to people so much! Find us on Instagram!
